Every year, I listen to the John Denver and the Muppets album, and I wonder who thought it up, and what kind of drugs they were on, and yet it is my favorite Christmas album, ever. I’ve had it since about 1983, too. Yes, you are listening to the Muppets sing Silent Night in German. Just deal with it. It’s beautiful.
So so so. Merry Christmas or happy holiday off work if you don’t go in for the Merry Christmas. I have the day off work tomorrow and New Year’s Eve, and I’m very pleased to be getting two four-day weekends in a row. How pretty awesome is that? Yes, lots of pretty awesome. Tomorrow I am starting CAKE BALLS!! in the morning, doing laundry, watching movies, wrapping gifts, and cleaning the house for family to stop by in the evening, when we will have peppermint ice cream (if I can find it) and hot cocoa before heading out to look at light displays. On Christmas Day, we are converging on my parents’ house to bake cookies and treats, which will be fun. And there are family events on Saturday and Sunday, enough that the weekend is booked, but not so much that I won’t get to sleep in. Our family event will be next week, so if I remember any last minute presents in the next few days, I have plenty of time!
I’m looking forward to the holidays. I love my family and I love to see them all at this time of year.
