So Here It Is, Merry Christmas

Everybody’s having fun!

I am having fun, ingesting far too many calories so far. Wonderful Christmas, with my coworker bringing cake balls (I LOVE CAKE BALLS!) at least twice in the past two weeks, and other coworkers bringing cookies and treats, and tins of popcorn, and I have some treats in my bag for everyone but it’s like bringing coals to Newcastle out there. I might drop them off once everyone’s gone to lunch.

Oh shit, I just realized I forgot to bring Christmas cards for my coworkers. Oh well.

My gift shopping is done and I think most of the food shopping is done… well, at least for this holiday weekend. We have more food shopping to do for next week, so there will be plenty of time to get The cards were sent out and I’ve been happy to receive lots of them this year. I know so many people with babies now! They send picture cards. Some of the pictures are pictures that I took! I am not ashamed to admit that I put those on top of the pile so that everyone can see my handiwork.

My house is reasonably clean, mostly because I keep inviting people over and it has to be clean for them! But then it is really nice to live in a clean house, I must say. I will have to keep inviting people over so that I can continue to live in a clean house.

Next week will be the annual yearly-wrap-up and Quarterly Resolutions posts, as well as maybe a decade-wrap-up post, since, you know, that’s fun. I am not very proud of my Quarterly Resolutions accomplishments. I think I will have read one book and will have seen one or two AFI movies, but I’ve been super lax since October on that stuff. I have been watching movies, though. I’ve been checking the lineup at Turner Classic Movies for a few weeks, and recording lots of stuff on my DVR, which I can do now because I have a DVR with a giant harddrive that can hold a bazillion old movies. And I’ve been watching them! Last night I watched Barefoot in the Park, which was cute, and A Face in the Crowd, which I loved. I find that I love a lot of the dark satires that came out of the 1950s. I would put this in the same category as Ace in the Hole or Paths of Glory. I really enjoyed it, and who knew Andy Griffith had such range?
