It is officially cold. I switched out to flannel sheets a couple of nights ago (and I’m wondering where my duvet is… all I can find is the duvet cover. Did I let Tracy take that, thinking I would buy something new? That was dumb.) And I am wishing that I’d switched over to my winter clothes, as I’m wearing a lot of my summer cardigans and sweaters.
But, especially, I am wishing that I had a better selection of winter shoes. I’ve become enamored of pretty shoes in the past couple of years, but my selection does not extend to winter styles. Last year, I kept trying to wear summer ballet flats all winter, and it was stupid and cold. This year, I am telling myself to buy some pretty winter shoes so that I will wear responsible footwear when it is below freezing, and yet I cannot find anything that I like online with the exception of knee-high black boots. (Which I did buy.) I really hate the bootie style of shoe (looks like a high-heeled boot but cut off right at the ankle), yet all signs seem to be pointing me to them. Maybe they wouldn’t look so atrocious with slacks.
Looking forward to a good weekend. I’m supposed to shoot a wedding tomorrow (which appears to be the last of the season, unless something last-minute comes up!) and then maybe go to the Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival on Sunday with some new friends. The weather is supposed to be cold but sunny, which will be nice after a few days of hard rain (in the middle of which was a bad home football game). I have high hopes of getting some other stuff done around the house and yard. What I won’t do is paint the living room again, I promise, though I am starting to really hate the warm beige color I painted the living room. I have a feeling that it won’t last until Christmas. But now I have the added problem of finding another beige that will suit the kitchen, because the kitchen looks really nice with the warm beige. Ugh, what is wrong with me?
