Painting Party

I have been feeling a little sick this week, but today I feel better.  I had such a productive day at work that at one point I actually did a full-on happydance.  I’m glad I have a very private cubicle for such situations.

I am leaving in a little while to go home and then we head to Kansas City for the second weekend in a row.  Tracy’s lease started on the apartment there on May 1, so we were there last weekend so she could clean it and assess the situation.  Once we saw the place sans furniture, it looked so bad (as houses, apartments, etc. always seem to) and I suggested that a fresh coat of paint would help.  So tomorrow several of us will descend on the place with at least five gallons of paint and all the necessary equipment needed for a Painting Party!  (This is also our Mother’s Day celebration for my mom.)

Tracy’s parents are coming into town for the weekend, but they are not pleased with Tracy’s choice of abode.  This is likely to be something of an intervention.  We hope the painting party will at least put off some of the initial reaction to the apartment… and that the first coat of paint will be well on before they arrive.
