Okay, a little more snow fell last night.  Just in time for my mother’s Birthday Eve!  Happy Birthday Eve, Mom!

Gosh, I’ve been watching a lot more television this month than I was for a few months there last fall.  I am kind of disappointed with this.  I was thinking of cancelling all the satellite channels this summer, with maybe the exception of the locals, but it will be tough if I haven’t already weaned myself from new shows.  As it is, I think I only watch the HBO shows on cable right now, and Top Chef.  Tracy got me addicted to Top Chef.  So much of the rest of everything is available online these days anyway.

I guess three of the major network shows that I watch (Lost, 30 Rock, & The Office) are back on and they end up sucking more time than I think they should.

As a consequence, I have been mildly procrastinatory about working through pictures.  But I am only uploading a couple at a time to Flickr, and I did enough of them in the past few weeks that I have a backlog.  Anyway, there are usually new pictures on Flickr these days if you want to head that way.  Right now they’re all of the Golden Gate Bridge, but that’s how it goes.  I have a lot of California pictures that I haven’t even touched, you know!

But I have managed to do enough pictures to get through seven seasons of The X-Files and most of the show Carnivale.  After I finish these, I’m watching Twin Peaks.  I haven’t seen it yet.  In fact, I realized the other day that I haven’t seen anything by David Lynch.  This is the sort of thing that I should remedy.

I have not been into movies at all lately.  For the first time in years… years!… I haven’t seen any of the Academy Award nominees for Best Picture, and only a few of the others nominated for the top awards.  And I just don’t care that much.  None of the movies strike me as all that interesting.  They just look cliched and typical, and I’m not into it.  And that is so not me.  I don’t know what’s up with that.  The only movie we saw at the holidays was Synecdoche, New York.  I didn’t see anything else at all.  Really, really unlike me.
