Oh, it is pretty. It is so pretty. After a couple of days trying to puzzle out the settings on that Windows Mobile-based phone (and was a perfectly good phone, with great reviews), it is like having a phone that reads your mind. I marvel at its exact perfection!
I have it in a soft case right now because the Speck ToughSkin that I want isn’t available in my town. So I keep cradling it like a baby, just in case it might leap from its case through my fingers and crash into bits on the floor.
It could happen!
I learned today that one of my current favorite shows, Pushing Daisies, is probably going to be cancelled, and it’s very disappointing because it’s such a cute show and so unique. The style is wonderful and the storyline is fun and yet it has a very surreal and absurd sense of humor. It totally works, so I’m very disappointed that it will be cancelled and shit like Private Practice still lives to waste airspace another day. On the other hand, Chuck seems to be alive and well, at least for now. I thought that one would be cancelled right away, but it’s having a pretty good second season. I like that show too, but it’s nowhere near as cute as Pushing Daisies, although the inclusion of Adam Baldwin was inspired casting.
We are supposed to have a Thanksgiving party at work today, but I thought it might start a little early so I could eat a bit before I have to leave at noon. That’s not happening though, so I will have to leave just as the fun begins. I brought some bread from Uprise Bakery and some cookies. I might have to break into those cookies before I leave, though. Or maybe a piece of bread? Please? Take pity- it’s a long drive to the airport. No, actually, I plan to go home and slap together some Tofurky sandwiches, cut up an orange, and we’ll eat in the car on the way up.
I realized yesterday that I was doing the math wrong about our timing this afternoon, so we have a little more time than I thought. Not much, though. But I don’t have to be a crazy worry person.
And it’s Southwest. I can’t tell you how much I like Southwest Airlines. When I started flying them instead of American, I wanted to hug every flight attendant. Big planes! Choose my own seat! Suffer-no-fools mentality of the staff! Ah, I love it. I love that they fly out of the little terminals, like the East Terminal in St. Louis or Midway Airport in Chicago or that new concourse at BWI (which is where we have our layover today). That makes it even easier. I don’t think I ever get a better deal through Southwest than other places, but it’s totally worth it in terms of my anxiety levels. I would even understand if they decided to start charging for checked baggage, like everybody else, but they don’t even do that! Aren’t they nice?
And to round out a happy, love-filled entry (I love iPhones and Speck ToughSkin cases and Pushing Daisies and absurdity and surreal humor and Chuck and Adam Baldwin and Tofurky and Uprise Bakery and Southwest Airlines and the East Terminal at the St. Louis Airport and…), I have to admit that I love the Candy Cane Hershey Kisses, and I’ve already bought and consumed some even though I have a visceral reaction to the holiday music piped into all of the stores already. I’m not a fan of Christmas before Thanksgiving, and yesterday I realized that one of my neighbors has put up all of their Christmas trees already (YES, you heard right, I said ALL of them… they must have five full-sized Christmas trees, one for every window in the front of the house, and that’s only what I can see from driving by and gawking from my car) and it’s only today a WEEK before THANKSGIVING and I still have not put away Halloween decorations. Whatever. The point is that I love Candy Cane Hershey Kisses. They are, by far, the best Hershey Kiss available and that includes the plain chocolate ones, but there is still room at my table for the Lemon and Orange ones that they have at Easter. I think it’s something about the white chocolate that I like so much. Anyway, I love you Candy Cane Hershey Kisses! Call me!

No picture of Dear Little iPhone?
I’m not very good about taking pictures of things I’ve bought. You’ll have to be content with Googling it or seeing it live. Seeing it live is pretty awesome, though. It’s quite the contraption.
