Wow, the politics these days… I can hardly tear myself away from television and blogs. It’s all leading up to what should be a pretty good debate tomorrow night. I have plans to watch it downtown with the Obama volunteers. At least, I hope so. I should probably see what others are doing as well, in case one venue is too crowded or something. I’d hate to miss a second of it.
I did go out and canvass in my neighborhood on Tuesday night, and, as promised, I will be out tonight trying to register voters at the Twilight Festival. I am looking forward to it. It’s the last Twilight Festival- not just of the year, but ever. They decided to quit with the Twilight Festivals, which I think sucks. Apparently it attracted too many kids and not enough families… though I would think that somebody has to be benefitting from a bunch of teenagers downtown and not off doing drugs or prostituting themselves. It’s a fine line, you know. These kids today!
Canvassing on Tuesday was interesting. My neighborhood is totally suburban, but I knocked on about 38 doors. I was interested that the people who live on the streets east of me were kind of bitchy and uninterested (regardless of political party affiliation) but the people who live on the streets west of me were friendly and nice and smiled at me (again, regardless of political party affiliation). I am also fascinated that there are still people who haven’t decided on a candidate yet. Why? Who are these folks? What do they do with their days? What do they think about? How can they just not know yet? I don’t understand.
