Things I Should Be Doing, Things I’m Doing

I was all geared up today to go to the Twilight Festival this evening and help with the Obama campaign, but now it’s 4:45pm and I just want to go home instead.

This is the kind of attitude that I had towards the gym when we used to go after work, which is why I was so inconsistent about getting to the gym after work.  But now we go in the morning, and it’s great!

I wonder if I could volunteer for the Obama campaign in the morning instead?  That might help my motivation problems!  Somehow I doubt they’d be into that.

I had a couple of photography gigs last weekend, so I’m not just going home to sit in front of the TV.  I have work to do!  And I don’t feel right avoiding the work to help with the campaign.  I can help with the campaign at the Twilight Festival next week if I get all my work done this week and this weekend, right?

Updates!  I did plant those two trees last week, and they look so great in the yard.  I’m pleased that I picked two crabapples instead of larger trees.  I think a larger tree would have dwarfed my one-story ranch house.  The crabapple, which will only reach 15′-20′, accentuates the height of the house.  And the trees are really pretty and not too similar looking.  Not too “I found a sale on crabapple trees at the local tree store so I bought two of them”.

We are moving along on getting a new roof too.  I picked out a color yesterday, although it is suspiciously similar in color to what we already have: medium gray.  It goes with the blue-gray siding and the red brick facade.  It works.  I didn’t really care much beyond that.

Soooo… is that it?  Any more info from me?  I feel like it’s been a long couple of weeks, and I clearly haven’t updated here at all, but that’s probably because I spend a lot of time checking Politico.com instead of posting here.

I just realized that I forgot to feed the meter on my car this afternoon.  I hate it when I do that, although the parking tickets are not terribly expensive downtown.  It’s more the principle of the matter.  I should be able to remember to feed the damn meter.

Ok, so I’m feeding my aunt’s cats, going to the grocery store, and then going home to work.  And I will volunteer for Obama next Thursday at the Twilight Festival.  And now that I’ve posted this here, I have to do it!  You are my witness!
