I did not know that key limes aren’t the same as regular limes. I thought Key Lime Pie was just the name for a kind of pie, like German chocolate cake.
It turns out that it’s a pie made specifically out of a fruit called a key lime. A key lime is also known as a Christmas Swingle. What we call a lime is actually a Persian lime.
