Damn caffeine. You know I actually managed to quit caffeine for many months there? But something snapped a few weeks ago, and I’m back on with a daily Diet Coke. It just ups my productivity, really. As long as I can keep it to just the one Diet Coke a day, anyway…
Can’t believe I’m posting my sixth post of the week, but this week has been so long for me that I’m still kind of surprised that it’s Friday. Wednesday felt like Friday, and then Thursday felt like Monday, and now it’s really Friday but I don’t believe it.
Random thoughts & updates:
There are my new sunglasses on the right there. I’m not sure why I went for the pink edging, but I wanted a little color. I see some blue ones on the website but they weren’t at the store. I hate the fact that so many frames have the brand name printed on the arms. Why do they have to do that? I like it when I can scratch it off afterwards, but seriously? I do not want to advertise a brand name on my glasses. I wear my glasses the entire time that I’m awake and moving about in the world, which means they should lower the price of these frames to make up for all that ad time on my head or screenprint them on there so I can scratch it off delicately with my fingernail.- Tracy has her vacation next month and has the plans to go to DC for nearly all of it, though she is scheduled for wisdom teeth extraction during that time. The girl knows how to party! She’s really overdue for the wisdom teeth extraction so I’m glad she’s getting it done. I am not sure what I will do while she’s gone, but maybe it will involve a road trip to the Ozark Scenic Riverways. I’ve been wanting to go that direction for several months, and it would be fun to take Martha the Dog with me, though Martha isn’t much of a hiker. That said, neither am I.
- I had a meeting this afternoon on the west side of campus, so I walked there and ate lunch in Peace Park on the way. I got very absorbed in dropping crumbs on the cement pad under the bench, and watching the ants decide how to conquer the crumbs.
- I watched the movie Born Yesterday this week, and it was great. I like William Holden. I like Judy Holliday too.
- I love the Gawker blogs, especially Jezebel, but former Gawker blog Wonkette is the best.
- I look forward to hearing more about the new HBO/Alan Ball show True Blood. It’s Press Tour time for the critics that I read online, so I hope to get an update rather than just those annoying teaser ads running on some of my favorite websites.
- I keep browsing handbags online. I don’t know what my problem is. I gave up my trusty black messenger bag in favor of a green retro purse thing. I don’t know why, but I think I just wanted an update. My style of clothing has changed this summer with all these blouses I keep wearing, so the retro bag works while the messenger bag didn’t. Though the problem is that the retro bag is black hole and I can never find anything quickly in it, while the messenger bag was more shallow so it was easier. However, I really like this bag made from repurposed automobile fabric. I wish it was bigger and much, much cheaper.
