Little DarlingI had my third model shoot on Sunday afternoon, and it went very well.  But for some reason I have not started processing any of the pictures from it or even the second shoot last Tuesday.  I just can’t get working on them.  I don’t know what my problem is, but it’s annoying me and I wish I could get over it already.

I spent the weekend otherwise burning backups on DVDs and finally cleared about half the space off my work laptop, which has become the go-to machine for my photo stuff since the DVD burner on my Mac laptop is really showing its age (it takes 10 times as long, and the DVDs don’t work as well on my work laptop).  Sure, I’d love to upgrade my Mac laptop, but it’s fine for what it is now: basically a giant Wikipedia/IMDb-lookup device when I’m sitting on the couch watching teevee.  My work laptop is functioning just fine for now, especially with all the money I’ve spent this year on camera shit.  (I did do my taxes a couple of weeks ago!  I am a good girl!)  Then!  I did a badly-need defragmenting of the laptop hard drive, which has definitely sped things up.  Of course.  I was surprised that it needed it- I thought I checked it recently.

Meanwhile!  Not much else is going on.  The weather has turned very springy this week, though it’s just a teaser because there are always more days of winter in March and April.  But it did have me out and about in my yard last night, where I found crocus blooming.  I really, really need to look into some landscaping options this spring.  I want to clear out some of the railroad ties in the backyard and maybe rebuild the retaining wall down by the street, plus I have a big muddy pit that needs grass seed and fertilizer and love and attention.  All the flowerbeds need love and attention.  I get so tired of doing yardwork by midsummer.  I’m a terrible gardener, really, though I have grand aspirations to be a wonderful gardener.  Maybe if I don’t put so much pressure on planting new things this year, and instead just fix up the flowerbeds as they are… see what comes back from last year, and that kind of thing.  Maybe put in some shrubs and spend all my time worrying about them.

I also want to fix the patio, and I should have started that before I get on seeding the mud pit.  But I didn’t.

Ugh, it’s all a mess, mess, mess.

Anyway, Tracy’s vacation starts next week.  She is going to DC for a long weekend, and I am planning to do some work while she’s out of town.  Specifically, I’m planning to paint the bedroom light green (it’s currently pink), and replace the light fixture (I’m thinking a hanging multi-light thingy, unless I can convince myself that I like one of the ceiling fans at the store).  The walls in the bedroom aren’t very high and I think I can do all of it in a couple of days without any problem.  It would be nice to get that done.  (But it’s a secret!  So don’t tell her if you read this and know her, please.)

Picture Note:  Blue Pearl snow crocus from my front yard, taken just last night.
